Peter J. Klear
One of the many family values that Pete learned from his parents is the importance of education. Pete is a graduate of Saint Xavier High School, Cincinnati, Ohio. The slogan of the school is “Men for Others.” In his professional career, Pete has tried to live out this slogan spending most of his career serving the public. As an attorney, Pete takes immense pride in serving as a legal problem solver for his clients.
Prior to joining Ruberg Law, PLLC, Pete was a public interest attorney. First, Pete was a criminal defense attorney serving as a KY Public Defender in Mason, Bracken, and Fleming Counties. Pete defended clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges in District and Circuit Courts. Pete assisted his clients traverse through some exceedingly difficult life challenges. Later, he joined the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. In this role, Pete acted on behalf of correction officials in areas involving Administrative Law, Employment Law, EEOC/Discrimination, Open Records Appeals, and Personnel Matters. Pete has represented these clients before the KY Office of the Attorney General, KY Circuit Courts, and federal district courts.
In the private sector, Pete has collaborated with clients on matters involving probate, trust administration and social security benefits. He has appeared before Probate Court Judges, Magistrates, and Administrative Law Judges. Pete has helped clients navigate the complexities of probate. He has administered trusts, including special needs trusts, so his clients could secure additional quality of life resources while maintaining government benefits.
Personally, Pete has firsthand experience of the innumerable benefits associated with having a proper estate plan. Several of his family members have suffered through the debilitating diseases of Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Fortunately, Pete’s family members had the foresight and guidance to have their estate plans in place to give them piece of mind and lessen the burden on their family. Pete strives to help his clients achieve this same piece of mind for themselves and families.
